Royston Maybery, OCT., B.Ed., M.A.

Royston Maybery is registered with the Ontario College of Teachers. He has a variety of academic and practical skills. He holds two undergraduate degrees: One in Archeology, the other in General Arts. He also holds a Bachelor of Education and a master’s degree in History. Royston is also an apprentice trained machinist with City and Guilds of London and Ontario Certificate of Qualification. His principal teachable subjects are: Design and Technology, and Manufacturing. He also has substantial experience teaching other subjects, including: Geography, History, Civics, Social Science, English, Media Studies, Science and other academic disciplines. He is also an accomplished artist specializing in portrait painting and has exhibited in several Hamilton Galleries.

Nasser Shahcheraghi, B.Eng.

Nasser began his  musical journey during high school, where he first learnt the fundamentals of music theory and instrument performance. After completing high school, he moved to the United States and pursued his academic studies in Mechanical Engineering while continuing to play the piano, accordion, and flute. Music has remained my lifelong passion, providing both inspiration and balance alongside his professional career. With over four decades of teaching experience, he have had the privilege of instructing students in piano, accordion, keyboard, melodica, flute recorder , and harmonium—sharing not only technical skills but also a deep appreciation for the art of music.

Dr. Mery Salehy, Ph.D.

Dr. Mery Salehy holds a Ph.D. in Child Counseling, a Master’s degree in Exceptional Child Psychology, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. With many years of hands-on experience working with children, she brings deep understanding, patience, and creativity to every lesson. Dr. Salehy currently works as an Early Learning Educator in an elementary school in Hamilton, where she supports children’s emotional and academic growth through engaging, play-based learning. She also has a special passion for arts and crafting, particularly origami, where she combines creativity with calm focus to help children build confidence and fine-motor skills. At Ladan Academy, she teaches Farsi and Crafting, creating a welcoming and joyful environment where learning feels natural and inspiring.

Zoya Shahcheraghi, B.I.T., M.Sc., M.C.S.

Zoya Shahcheraghi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and two Master’s degrees in Computer Science, including one from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She has several years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Software Developer, where she designed and developed modern websites, web applications, and digital learning platforms. Her strong background in technical support has made her highly skilled in troubleshooting software issues, installing and configuring operating systems, and resolving complex computer problems efficiently. Alongside her technical career, Zoya has over three years of teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carleton University. She is passionate about making technology accessible for everyone and teaches computer science fundamentals, programming, and debugging techniques in a clear, patient, and engaging way. At Ladan Academy, Zoya is especially dedicated to helping seniors gain digital confidence and independence, guiding them step-by-step through everyday computer use, online safety, and digital tools. She also enjoys working with children and youth, introducing them to the exciting world of technology in a supportive and encouraging environment. Driven by creativity and care, Zoya believes that technology should empower people of all ages—and she takes pride in helping each learner reach that goal.
